We land in Bucharest, fueled by caffeine and ready to dive into adventure. Then, it’s off to catch the train to Brașov—because, let’s be real, who doesn’t love a little train drama? There might be some tales about missed trains and last-minute sprints, but that’s all part of the fun, right? Once we finally make it, we’ll stroll into the heart of downtown, where our cozy lodging is perfectly placed for exploring all the sights, sounds, and snacks this city has to offer. Expect the unexpected when you’re traveling through Transylvania during Halloween—this place is steeped in lore and legend.
We’ve only got FIVE DAYS to pack in the ultimate Transylvanian experience. We’ll be road-tripping through Brasov, Sighisoara, Zarnești, Cluj, and end back in Bucharest. In Brasov, we’ll definitely be going inside the Black Church, checking out Rope Street, the Council Square, and so much more in this medieval gem. Brasov will be our main base, giving you plenty of time to self-explore. Then, we’ll head to Sighișoara, one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval towns and the birthplace of Vlad the Impaler. This town is practically dripping in Dracula lore, and we’ll uncover its eerie ties to vampire legends.
Don’t worry—we won’t get eaten by bears, but we do have to visit the Libearty Bear Sanctuary in Zarnesti (it’s on the way to the backdrop of the Cold Mountain movie set). Oh, and the highlight of the trip? An unforgettable night at Bran Castle, aka Dracula’s Castle, on November 1st, 2025. This iconic fortress comes alive with a thrilling Halloween party full of costumes, live music, and performances that honor the dark legends of the region. It’s going to be a wild ride.
Our days will be packed with wandering cobblestone streets, devouring delicious Romanian dishes, and exploring the history of each city with our local guide, who knows all the best spots and juiciest stories. As night falls, we’ll turn up the spooky vibes—shadowy alleys, eerie tales, and maybe even a cemetery (because really, you can’t NOT visit one in Transylvania). But wait—there’s more! We’re also going for a nighttime walk in the Hoia-Baciu Forest, aka the Bermuda Triangle of Transylvania, known for its spooky, unexplainable phenomena. Get ready for chills, thrills, and a lot of laughs.
